Jude Bellingham expressed his opinions about referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero without holding back.

Jude Bellingham and referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero got into a furious argument during Saturday night’s La Liga match between Real Madrid and Espanyol.

Three Real players, including Bellingham, were cautioned by the referee for their protests during Carlo Ancelotti’s team’s 4-1 victory at the Bernabeu after Thibaut Courtois’ own goal.  Shortly before he left the game, the England player received a yellow card and was pictured looking helpless on the bench following his obscenity-filled tirade in the latter moments of his performance.

When the referee stopped a Real Madrid counterattack to award a booking, Bellingham was clearly incensed with him. when you can see in the video below, he was heard to utter the words “you are a piece of s***” when he was given his yellow card.

Dani Carvajal, Rodrygo, Vini Jr., a late penalty from Kylian Mbappe, and another goal sealed Real Madrid’s comeback.

Following Courtois’ catastrophic mistake, Real Madrid overcame the deficit with Vinicius’ arrival to move within one point of early La Liga leaders Barcelona.  Although the Brazilian received a second booking for his part in displaying disobedience towards the referee, it did not detract from his incredible individual effort, as he set up Rodrygo’s goal with a beautiful outside-of-the-foot pass and scored himself just 20 minutes after coming on. However, Bellingham’s controversy was the main topic of conversation on social media following the game, as many people were taken aback by the 21-year-old’s remarks.

“Because Jude was fouled, the referee halts the play during a Real Madrid counter in order to book Bellingham. “I wish I was kidding,” uttered one.

“Give Jude a yellow when we are on a counterattack?” said another. That happens three times today.
A third person commented, “This ref is a disgrace; he’s booking Bellingham for getting fouled man.”

Bellingham received a lot of praise for his performance despite the contentious incident. According to SofaScore, he was named player of the match after completing 51 out of 60 passes, accumulating 79 touches, and making three crucial passes that helped Real Madrid pull away and maintain pressure on their bitterest rivals, Barcelona.

On Tuesday night, Bellingham and Real will play again when they take on Alaves.
