A simple charm — or something more?

As rumors that Taylor Swift is dating NFL star Travis Kelce continue to swirl, the pop superstar stepped out in NYC on Sept. 8 wearing a teardrop-shaped pendant set with an opal, which just so happens to be the ball-playing Libra’s birthstone.

Foundrae’s Forever & Always a Pair Pendant also nods to the name of a famous “Fearless” track.

Kelce and Swift are “quietly hanging out” began swirling earlier this month.

Swift styled her necklace with a pleated Sandy Liang miniskirt, Gucci boots and a Louis Vuitton bag.

Kelce has said he tried (and failed) to give Swift his phone number at one of her Eras Tour stops this summer.

Swift added Foundrae’s Forever & Always a Pair Pendant ($1,150) — which, yes, shares a name with a famous “Fearless” track — to the same jeweler’s Sister Hook Heavy Belcher Chain Choker ($6,365); per Foundrae’s website, the pendant “represents love.”

“Each pair comes at a time in our lives when something just feels right. These pairs of pears, we absorb them, fuse them into our own hearts, and our heart grows as a result,” the product description reads.

“It’s those pairs we choose to keep; friends, lovers, family, chosen family, a part of our heart forever. Forever and always, perpetually, and unceasingly bound.”

Swift’s choice of charm didn’t go unnoticed by her fans.

“Kelce is a libra and opal is our birthstone,” one eagle-eyed Swiftie commented on @taylorswiftstyled’s Instagram post spotlighting the star’s jewelry; “I’ve put my 🤡 makeup on and I’m listening,” another joked in response.

“even though i believe the kelce’s [sic] started the dating rumor to promote their documentary… opal is october birthstone and travis was born in october,” another pointed out.

It’s worth noting that Swift, a Sagittarius, has loved opals for years; she’s worn a number of pieces featuring the iridescent gemstone both on and off the red carpet, and has even written it into songs. (“Your opal eyes are all I wish to see,” from the “Evermore” track “Ivy.”)

“When I was bullied in school my mom used to take me to TJ Maxx after school to look at the opal jewelry,” she told Us Weekly in 2016. “I thought opals were so beautiful, and somehow it made me feel better. We never bought them, just looked.”

The Messenger reported earlier this month that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end had been “quietly hanging out” with Swift for several weeks; while neither party’s reps have commented on the rumors, that hasn’t stopped NFL announcers, Barstool Sports bigwig Dave Portnoy and even Travis’ brother, Jason, from wading into the discourse.

“Ever since [Travis’ 2016 dating show] ‘Catching Kelce,’ everybody has been infatuated with Travis’ love life,” Jason told Tony Gonzalez on “Thursday Night Football” last week.

“I don’t really know what’s going on there. I know Trav is having fun … We’ll see what happens with whoever he ends up with.”

In July, Travis tried and failed to give Swift his phone number — in the form of a beaded friendship bracelet, no less — during one of her Eras Tour shows, as he revealed to Jason on an episode of the duo’s “New Heights” podcast.
