Luis Manuel Diaz, the father of Liverpool forward Luis Diaz, told Win Sports TV (h/t Mundo Deportivo) that his son loves FC Barcelona and wants to play for them all the time.

After being freed, Luis Manuel Diaz was able to see his son score two goals for Colombia against Brazil last night in Barranquilla in a World Cup qualifying game.

After the game, he did an interview in which he said that Diaz has always wanted to play for Barcelona and is a big fan of the La Liga winners.

Luis Diaz’s father said, “Absolutely nothing has been said by him about Barcelona so far. But it is true that Luis loves Barcelona and would love to visit there.”

In the past, Barcelona was interested in Diaz.

You may know that Barcelona was interested in signing Luis Diaz not long ago.

In fact, Barcelona seriously thought about getting the Colombian while he was still at FC Porto during the January 2022 transfer window.

In the end, though, Diaz signed with Liverpool for €47 million, while Barcelona paid €55 million to get Ferran Torres from Manchester City.

Early this year, there were also rumors that the Colombian winger was being sought after, but nothing came of it.
