Three sources have told 90min that Luis Suarez will be joining Inter Miami in the next few weeks. The deal is official.
As 90min reported in June, the player always wanted to get back together with Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets in Florida. Suarez wanted to join the Herons in the summer, but he was still under contract with Gremio in Brazil. The 36-year-old’s contract with Gremio lasts until 2024, but there is a condition that lets him leave, and he and Miami have used it.
Last week, when head coach Renato Gaucho said Suarez played his last game with the team, rumors started to spread that he was going to be coming soon. The player then wrote on social media, “Goodbye, everyone! My family and I want to thank you for all the love and fun we had Saturday at the Arena Do Gremio.” That was a truly amazing and unique day that we will always remember.
Sources have now revealed to 90 Minutes that he will be moving to Inter Miami after leaving Gremio. The player will officially join the team in the next few days, when the Primary Transfer Window starts on December 11. Nothing can be said ahead of time.
The last time Messi, Jordi Alba, Busquets, and Suarez played together was for FC Barcelona in 2020, before Suarez left for Atletico Madrid. The foursome won ten trophies, including three league wins and three Copas del Rey, which broke La Liga records.
Now, the four will play together again in Major League Soccer to try to win the team’s first league title. After winning the first Leagues Cup event in 2023, the team had already won the first trophy in club history.
