Luka Modric has instructed Guler to give the Real Madrid supporters his all when he eventually makes an appearance.
Guler had knee surgery shortly after joining the team this summer, and he returned to the operating room last month due to another setback. He is yet to receive his season’s first start.
Guler was not there for Turkey’s international match this week against Croatia and Modric. But he’s back in the gym now, determined to make the much-needed breakthrough.
Guler’s return to training was met with high praise by Modric, who is 18 years old. He is eager to collaborate with Guler.
What a wonderful child, I adore him. He genuinely wants to listen, improve, and learn. He’s quite talented,” he remarked.
“Unfortunately, he got hurt when he came to Madrid. He then got better, but maybe he wanted to push things to happen faster because he wanted to show Madrid how good he was, and he hurt himself again.”
“I told him the other day that he needs to stay calm and take things one step at a time. I also told him that he’s young, so he has time to show Madrid fans how good he is.”
Good fortune to him. I hope he starts showcasing his abilities when he returns, but his greatest quality is that he is a wonderful young man.
Madrid’s first game back after the international break is a trip to Sevilla, where fans hope to see the 18-year-old for the first time.
