Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister was forced to leave the Argentina dressing room to help his family gain access to the Copa America final amid “inhumane” scenes outside of the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Kick-off against Colombia was delayed by 80 minutes amid reports of ticketless fans trying to gain entry for the showpiece fixture.
Silvina (Mac Allister’s mother): “Mac Allister is in the locker room preparing to play. But my child still has to try to get out to help my family get inside the field safely.”
According to FOX Sports, there were many relatives of the players who could not enter the field due to chaos outside Hard Rock Stadium.
