Sky Sports writer Florian Plettenberg says that Manchester United wants to sign Florian Wirtz, a midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen.
Man United chose in August to give captain Bruno Fernandes a new deal with a good salary. The Portuguese player, on the other hand, hasn’t played very well this season and hasn’t scored a goal in 11 games across all categories.
Fernandes is also 30 years old. It’s not a surprise that Man United has been linked with good scoring midfielders like Florian Wirtz. Florian Plettenberg says that the Red Devils want to sign the German international. Many other top teams, like Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, also want to sign him.
The well-known Sky Sports reporter also said that Bayer Leverkusen wants to sell Wirtz to another team, which means that he can’t go to Bayern. The Bundesliga winners, on the other hand, don’t think Wirtz will be able to move to Real Madrid next summer.
Wirtz helped Xabi Alonso’s team win the domestic double last season by scoring 18 goals and setting up 20 others across all categories. The playmaker, who is 21 years old and worth about £99.9 million, has personally helped score five goals in six Bundesliga games this season, but Leverkusen are only sixth in the table right now.
