Mainoo, who is 18 years old, has become a big star at Old Trafford this season. He quickly became one of the best players on the team and scored his first goal for England last month.

But things might not have gone so well. When the talented midfielder was younger and went to school with United, City were ready to sign him.

He appeared in good spirits as he shared a laugh with one of his friends outside the restaurant

They were turned away every time they tried to get close to Mainoo. He was seen having dinner with his friends at The Ivy in the centre of Manchester on Wednesday. He was wearing a sky blue jacket, which showed them what they were missing.

He looked happy as he left the restaurant and was telling a funny joke to a friend that made him laugh out loud.

He scored another great goal for United in a 2-2 draw against Liverpool three days before he went to town for dinner. Liverpool was still in the fight for the title.

That Mainoo’s goal and effort made him look like Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric, said Nemanja Vidic, who used to play defence for United.

After scoring a great goal at Old Trafford, Mainoo thanks the crowd. This season, under Erik ten Hag, his team has had trouble getting wins, but he stepped up and helped them. He quickly became a fan favourite.

It looks like he has no plans to leave because he is close with the fans. This is true even though he grew up in Stockport, which has become a great place for the City to find bright people.

But Mainoo picked a different path. Phil Foden, who is from the same town, is doing great with Pep Guardiola’s team.

Manchester City has been linked with Mainoo, and in November it was said that they were making a crazy move to try to get the young player to join them at Etihad.

However, Mainoo has since signed a long-term deal with United, which means that they will always be his home team.
