Fans are shocked by Andre Onana’s finish in third place for the 2023 Ballon d’Or. They play for Manchester United.

The award ceremony for the men’s award is tonight in Paris, but France Football has already begun keeping track of the time until each of the 30 players who have been named has won.

Ruben Dias, a defender for Manchester City, came in 30th and ended last. Players like Jamal Musiala, Bukayo Saka, and Martin Odegaard did not make it into the top 20.

United goalie Onana, on the other hand, came in 23rd, ahead of both Saka and Odegaard.

Cameroon’s player moved from Inter Milan to United in the summer. Some fans were shocked to see the goalkeeper named so high after how poorly he has played at Old Trafford so far this season.

Someone wrote on X (Twitter): “So Andre is better than Saka, ok?”

“How tf is he above Dias?” asked someone else.

A third wrote just “Undeserved.”

A fourth person said, “This is the funniest one.”

Others, though, thought the Cameroon star should have been ranked even higher because of how well he played and how he led Inter Milan to the Champions League final last season.

One person wrote, “Deserved it.” He had a good game before Manchester United.

Someone else said, “The 23rd-best goalkeeper in the world…”

Another person yelled, “He was good in the last UCL, and he’s also not in the top 20!”

A fourth said, “Bless you. He played great all season for Inter Milan, who made it to the UCL final. Without a doubt.”
