Manchester United fans have expressed their frustration with Lisandro Martinez following the team’s 3-2 home defeat to Nottingham Forest, marking their sixth Premier League loss of the season. The match saw United take an early hit when Nikola Milenkovic scored from a corner, although Rasmus Hojlund equalized for the Red Devils.

However, the second half was disastrous for United as they conceded two goals in quick succession—Morgan Gibbs-White restored Forest’s lead before Chris Wood’s looping header made it 3-1. Bruno Fernandes managed to pull one back shortly after, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

Fans took to social media to criticize Martinez, particularly for his role in two of the goals. He was unable to effectively defend against Milenkovic from the set-piece and later let a ball pass him after Wood’s header went over Andre Onana. Comments flooded in, with one fan stating, “Martinez has to go. He’s so poor,” while another remarked, “I now see the inadequacy of Lisandro Martinez in corners.”

Martinez, who was signed by Erik ten Hag for £57 million and has made 77 appearances since joining in the summer of 2022, has seen his recent performances come under scrutiny. As United currently sits in 13th place in the Premier League, the pressure is mounting ahead of their next match against cross-town rivals Manchester City next Sunday.
