AARON WAN-BISSAKA spent the weekend putting 20,000 pairs of professional PPE gloves in boxes.

It’s just one way that the Manchester United star is fighting the coronavirus.

The personal safety equipment worth £10,000.00 that Wan-Bissaka paid for was sent to doctors in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is where his father is from.

This is the latest nice thing that United’s £50 million signing has done for others. He has also helped raise money for the NHS.

The 25-year-old Wan-Bissaka got his parents a new house before the COVID-19 outbreak and said, “I’m lucky.”

There are some people who can’t protect themselves as well or get some things they need during this situation.

“It felt good to help others.” I know they’re having a hard time, so it’s only fair that I help.”

Someone who is a doctor and friends with Aaron’s dad, Ambrose, and who left the war-torn country in 1997 had the idea to send the gloves back there.

When Ambrose asked his son to help, the former Crystal Palace star not only gave him money but also helped pack up the gear.

Wan-Bissaka has had some time to think about his quick rise to fame. In just two years, he went from being a backup player at Palace to a star for United and England.

He knows what he has given up and how hard he has worked to get where he is now.

However, he is also aware of the sacrifices those around him have made. This has made him want to help others even more.

The right-back has also been a part of the #FootballUnited Covid-19 fundraising campaign, which has had his FIFA games against Reece James of Chelsea and Dwight McNeil of Burnley shown online.

While contractors have finished making changes worth £400,000 to the £900,000 home Wan-Bissaka bought for his parents after joining United.

Wan-Bissaka, his brother Kevin, and his family have lived in a public house for about 20 years. The six-bedroom house in South London is only a few miles away, but it feels like a world away.

AWB also said, “I’ve moved on, so they should too.” This trip I’ve been on hasn’t been easy.

“I’m so grateful that my parents have spent time with me since I came to play.”

“It paid off that you took me to training every day right after work, skipping meals to do it, or even when the weather wasn’t nice. All those buses.”

Aaron is four years younger than Kevin, who now lives with his brother in Manchester.

But if things had gone the way AWB thought they would, his older brother or sister would be playing in the Premier League, not him. “I always thought he would make it,” he said. He was better than I am.

“I wished I were him. He showed me the way until his path got narrow and mine got wide. He taught me everything.”

They played football with Kevin’s friends on the green across from where they grew up.

When AWB was a teen, he remembers a wild night when he wanted to skip Palace training to hang out with his friends, but his dad chased him through the park.

“I always think about that time,” he said.

“I loved games, but I wasn’t enjoying training much.”

“One time I got home from school and my friends were at the green.”

“I didn’t want to leave them even though it was time to go to training.” He chased me until I ran away!

“Now I find it funny to think about it. I know why he did it, though. “That is something I will never forget.”

It is a long way from Wan-Bissaka, who is so cool that he doesn’t even fear the world’s biggest club.

But he did say that he was nervous for his first game with United in August, which finished with a 4-0 win over Chelsea.

He also said, “My family was so excited about that game that they wanted to stay at my house for two weeks before it happened!”

“It was a different game. It was like my first game for Palace all over again. It got nerve-wracking.

“United is under a lot of stress.” It’s how you handle it. You know that more than just your friends are watching.

Before security was put in place, Wan-Bissaka helped Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team go 11 games without losing.

Because of how open the Old Trafford locker room is, he thinks he has adjusted even better than he thought he would.

Tim Fosu-Mensah and AWB are good friends. AWB said, “We all get along.” I wasn’t ready for it.

“I thought that few people would talk to me because I was new.”

“But as soon as I walked in, everyone wanted to help me. They showed me around and talked to me.” They made me feel good.

“The manager wants to build this team together, and you’ll be able to tell the difference after the New Year.” We were getting better every game.

While Wan-Bissaka is known for tackling, his great pass that set up Anthony Martial’s goal in February’s 2-0 win at Chelsea showed that he has more to offer.

Being able to attack will help him in his match with England players like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kieran Trippier.

While the team is on lockdown, Wan-Bissaka plans to keep himself busy with charity work, FIFA, and working out.
