While undergoing some pre-season training, the Manchester United ace wore an Al-Ittihad shirt, which caused some concern among supporters regarding the annoyance of his idol Cristiano Ronaldo.

From donning the underwear brand of Ronaldo on the field to calling himself “Cristiano” during a bowling game with pals, garnacho has freely expressed his respect of the player.

And he even had six instances of sharing a pitch with Ronaldo during the second term of Portuguese bagsman at Old Trafford.

But by wearing an Al-Ittihad shirt with the Saudi Arabian side strong rivals of Ronaldo’s present team Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, Garnacho runs the danger of disturbing his inspiration.

The image of Garnacho sporting the Al-Ittihad colours startled and perplexed fans, who responded on social media.

One penned: “His idol plays for Al Nassr, why’s he wearing Al-Ittihad’s jersey?”

“Why not Al Nassr’s jersey to support his idol?!” another said.

“Embarrassing” is the third smashed word.

And a fourth said: “Not even wearing his idol shirt!”

Wearing the jersey, Garnacho was engaged in some late-night exercise before the forthcoming campaign began.

Following his Copa America success with Argentina this summer, the 20-year-old was granted an extended holiday and is still not back among his Man Utd colleagues.

United teammate Facundo Pellistri joined him for training; he is also on a delayed summer break following Copa America Uruguay’s participation.

Fans believe Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag might not be too happy with the Garnacho’s wardrobe selections too; others speculate his Al-Ittihad snap might be a means of implying he is ready for a transfer.

One penned: “Bro wants that Saudi move!”

Another added: “Bro is forcing his way out of Man Utd.”

Last season, Garnacho scored ten goals in all contests, including the match-winning finish United’s FA Cup success over rivals Man City at Wembley.

Man Utd is on a pre-season tour of the United States right now, and last week they suffered a 2-1 loss to rivals Arsenal in Los Angeles, therefore starting their preparations from a precarious beginning.

Before a friendly collision with Liverpool in South Carolina on Saturday night to cap off their tour, they play Real Betis in San Diego.

Ten Hag’s team will next travel to Wembley for the customary curtain raiser when they challenge Man City in the Community Shield on August 10.
