Man Utd youngstar Kobbie Mainoo was spotted out to dinner with friends wearing a blue jacket, years after rivals Man City tried to sign the teenage midfielder

Kobbie Mainoo, a prominent player for Manchester United, was observed in a restaurant on Wednesday evening, accompanied by friends, donning attire associated with Manchester City.

Mainoo, an 18-year-old, has emerged as a prominent figure at Old Trafford this season, swiftly establishing himself as one of the squad’s top performers prior to his debut for the England national team last month.

However, the outcome may have been significantly altered. During his time in United’s school, City expressed a strong desire to get the skilled player when he was still young.

Each attempt to approach Mainoo was met with rejection. On Wednesday, he was observed dining with his companions at The Ivy, a restaurant located in the heart of Manchester, while donning a sky blue jacket that provided a tantalizing look of what his pals were absent from.

Mainoo departed the restaurant with a contented expression, regaling one of his companions with a humorous anecdote that elicited boisterous laughter.

Prior to his dinner outing in town, he achieved yet another remarkable goal for United in a 2-2 draw against Liverpool, a team contending for the title.

Nemanja Vidic, a former defender for Manchester United, remarked that Mainoo’s goal and overall performance had a striking resemblance to that of Luka Modric, the recipient of the Ballon d’Or award.

Mainoo thanked the crowd at Old Trafford after scoring a spectacular goal. He has quickly become a fan favorite after stepping up for a team that has had trouble getting consistent wins this season under Erik ten Hag.

Because he is close with the fans, it seems like he has no plans to leave, even though he grew up in Stockport, which has become a great place for the City to find talented people.

But Mainoo chose a different road. Phil Foden, who is from the same town, is doing great with Pep Guardiola’s team.

Manchester City has been linked with Mainoo, and in November it was said that they were planning a crazy move to try to get the young player to join them at Etihad.

But since then, Mainoo has signed a long-term deal with United, making the Red Devils his home team for life.
