The Toffees started brightly and pressed the Red Devils high up the pitch.

Player Ratings
Andre Onana – 7/10
The shot-stopper made a brave save in the second minute and did well whenever called upon.
Diogo Dalot – 6/10
Another decent display from Dalot. He kept things simple and almost embarrassed Everton’s shot-stopper.
Raphael Varane – 7/10
The Frenchman held the backline together by winning all of his duels (3) and making three clearances.
Jonny Evans – 7/10
The veteran started by surrendering the possession but made some fine blocks to keep Everton at bay. He got a massive round of applause from the home crowd when he was substituted.
Victor Lindelof – 6/10
A better defensive performance from the Swedish captain when compared to last weekend.
Casemiro – 4/10
It was a shoddy start for the Brazilian midfielder as he gave away the ball twice in the first four minutes.
He didn’t improve and kept on making sliding tackles without any success.
Kobbie Mainoo – 6/10
A quiet display by his standards.
Scott McTominay – 6/10
McTominay played a fine through ball for Garnacho, but the youngster failed to capitalise.
Bruno Fernandes – 8/10
A great display as a false nine by the United skipper. He dropped deep to collect the ball and created space for wingers to run.
Alejandro Garnacho – 8/10
His fine trickery and bursting runs caused problems for Everton and earned United two spot kicks.
He could have bagged a goal himself but failed to take his opportunities.
Marcus Rashford – 6/10
He struck his penalty with good strength and fine accuracy. The Old Trafford crowd appreciated when he tracked back with full pace.
However, he didn’t really trouble Everton’s defence, and the expectations will be higher against Liverpool.
