Additional regular options Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire’s futures with the team are questionable.

Additionally, Man Utd has received a figure for the cost of signing Bayern Munich defender De Ligt, who is another target.

Given that he collaborated with the Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag throughout his teenage years at Ajax—even going so far as to be named captain—the Dutchman is acquainted with ten Hag.

But the German powerhouses have put a £42 million price tag on the 24-year-old, according to Sky Germany.

According to the source, Man Utd has started internal talks about a possible deal.

Although De Ligt has a right foot instead of a left, he can play on the left side of defence just as well, therefore people view him as an alternative to the England defender.

De Ligt paid £65.6 million to join Bayern from Juventus in 2022, and during a two-year period marred by injuries, he went on to make 73 appearances for the team.

His deal with the team expires in 2027.

De Ligt left his club future up in the air when he spoke before of the Netherlands’ opening Euro 2024 match against Poland later today.
