Despite rumors, United might decide not to pursue a deal for Roque.
The Blaugrana signed Roque for a fixed cost of €30 million plus €31 million in add-ons. But they still haven’t given Paranaense a single cent in exchange for his transfer.
La Liga is unlikely to permit the young player’s registration for the upcoming season as a result. It is one of the main reasons the team is willing to let him go to a different European team on loan.
The player’s group, however, would rather see a permanent transfer. We don’t think United will shell out a lot of money to sign the teenager from Barcelona.
Roque is only 172 cm tall, but he is clearly incredibly gifted and has a lot of promise. Strong center forwards with good aerial ability are typically Ten Hag’s preferred option.
If United were to buy a new striker, they might also consider bringing in an affordable, seasoned player.
We think about Serhou Guirassy in Stuttgart. With 27 goals from just 28 games across all competitions this season, the 28-year-old has been in outstanding form for Stuttgart.
His contract contains a low release clause at €17.5 million. Prior to the summer transfer window, United may rekindle their interest in signing him after coming “very close” to doing so in January.
It would be far wiser to sign Guirassy rather than spend €61 million on Roque, who is still very raw and needs more time to develop on the European scene.
