Erik ten Hag, the boss of Manchester United, made sure that his team got together for a special picture on Friday after three Premier League awards were given out at Carrington.
Following a great November in which the Reds earned all nine points, the manager, Harry Maguire, and Alejandro Garnacho were named Manager, Player, and Goal of the Month in the Premier League, respectively.
At home against Luton Town, away against Fulham and Everton (where Garnacho scored the goal that won him the award), and all three games, the defense kept a clean sheet.
Club reporters asked Erik if there was one act that stood out. He said, “No, I think what stands out is the way we are working.” The way we are growing and moving forward.”
When Ten Hag gathered his players for the above picture, he told them that individual awards like the ones he, Alejandro, and Harry received today would not be possible without the team’s help.
“I think winning these three awards means something about how we work together,” he said in a special interview that you can only see on club media tomorrow (Saturday).
“That’s great. This is something we can believe in. It can also give us ideas, and it makes us feel like we are going in the right way. That must now give everyone energy.”
The 22 players in the picture all trained on Friday as United got ready for their game against Bournemouth at Old Trafford this Saturday. The goal is to build on Wednesday’s great 2-1 win over Chelsea, which put the Reds only three points behind Manchester City, who is presently in fourth place.
Mason Mount, Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, and Tyrell Malacia were all hurt and couldn’t make it to the workout.
Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelof were also sick and couldn’t make it to training or the awards photo. Lindelof is recovering from a knock that caused him to be pulled at halftime against Chelsea.
Raphael Varane is ready to come back, but the boss told the club media that his Swedish center-back will not play against Bournemouth.
