ON HIS FIRST GAME FOR MAN UTD, MANUEL UGARTE risked his life to win over fans.

It was bloody on the pitch where the Uruguayan player was when United Barnsley 7-0.

This was Ugarte’s first game for Manchester United. He came off the bench against Southampton in their previous game, which was in the Carabao Cup.

During a rough first half at Old Trafford, the 23-year-old showed how he can be.

But the ex-PSG star lost to Luca Connell of the Tykes and came out on top.

Some United fans said Connell “stamped” on the Uruguayan as he went in for a tackle, but he didn’t get a yellow card.

The studs on Connell’s horse caught Ugarte and sent running down his leg.

The summer signing worth £50 million came back into the game after getting medical attention on the sidelines.

United Barnsley badly on a bad night for the League One team.

Even though they had 6,500 loud fans behind them, the South Yorkshire team could only hold out for 16 minutes before the gate opened.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring for the home team. It had been since March since he scored in back-to-back games.
