Manuel Ugarte has warned Erik ten Hag that he might be thinking about moving the midfielder to a different role at Old Trafford. 

After moving to Manchester for £51 million from Paris in the summer, the former PSG star has had a good start. He has started one of Manchester United’s last four league games. 

But United’s problems haven’t helped the 23-year-old get used to English football. Ten Hag’s team is 14th in the league after seven games, with only eight points. 

The Dutchman seems to have recovered from his most recent close shave with the chop. This happened during the international break, when Ugarte played in a defensive back three for Uruguay in their 1-0 loss to Peru. 

The aggressive midfielder made it clear that he doesn’t think Marco Bielsa’s move was a good idea, saying that he doesn’t think he has the skills to play there regularly. 

They said, “It was not a good match.” “We did not play well. It’s too bad, because I still think we are much better, but we lost the game badly.” There was a good vibe in the locker room before the game, but as the game went on, we lost our strength and didn’t play well.

There are enough rules for everyone to play, but it often takes a little while to get used to new people. Either way, it’s not an excuse; the team did worse. To do better, like we did against Peru, we need to keep working.

To be honest, I felt good when I had the ball, but as a defender, I’m not quite there yet. These things always make a player better.

Ten Hag probably won’t put the player in defense since Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro were bought in the summer. Yoro hasn’t played for the Cubs yet because he hurt himself in preseason. 

It was Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo’s only league start for United, which was in the 3-0 loss to Tottenham last month.

United plays again on Saturday when they host Brentford at Old Trafford. Then, they go to Fenerbahce to try to get their first win in Europe under Jose Mourinho.
