Former England player and commentator Jamie Redknapp criticized Marcus Rashford for not putting in enough effort during the Brentford match.

Redknapp said that Rashford was being lazy on the field because the English forward was just walking around and not putting in much effort during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Brentford. Redknapp told Sky Sports, “I think Man United fans would have been really looking forward to tonight after what was probably the best game of their season against Liverpool. Redknapp was upset that Rashford hadn’t been playing well this year and said, “Marcus Rashford is a player with so much talent.” Having ability from God, he has it all. He has a great body and can run, move, and shoot. Last year he scored 30 goals. Right now I’m looking at a player. He has scored eight goals so far—seven in the Premier League and one in the FA Cup. It looks like he’s not having fun with football. I feel really sad about it because he has so much ability and I want to see more.

“I wish he would smile. We all know that Marcus Rashford is one of their most naturally talented players. He can do things whenever he wants. I just want Marcus Rashford to enjoy football once more. I don’t know what Marcus is up to when he’s not playing football. I don’t see him smile enough when I see him on the field, though. I also want to see him having fun with football again. That’s because he’ll tear it up if I see it. He’ll score goals and be the best left back in the world, which he can be.
