Mason Greenwood, who is on loan from Manchester United, kept up his good play for Getafe in their exciting La Liga draw at home against Las Palmas this afternoon (Saturday).
Greenwood is having a great season on the continent, and he scored his team’s second goal in the 3-3 tie.
He had a shot at goal early on for United, but after 10 minutes, Jamie Mata scored a nice goal from a recovered corner kick to give Getafe the lead.
Then Greenwood was free in the Las Palmas half, and he coolly went around Alvaro Valles to score Getafe’s second goal just three minutes later. The game got off to a fast start.
The 22-year-old never missed as he bore down on goal and scored his eighth goal of the season with ease to put the home team ahead.

ntil the 35th minute, when Sandro Ramirez, a former Everton striker, scored a fine goal from 20 yards out to cut the lead in half.
But Nemanja Maksimovic scored a shot in the last minute of the half to give Getafe a two-goal lead going into the break.
While the game was still going on, Greenwood scored five goals, making it clear that he is quickly becoming Getafe’s key attacker. A late yellow card was the only bad thing about the first half.
But Greenwood’s second half wasn’t as good as his first. For some reason, Getafe threw away their lead, which meant that both teams tied the game.
Before the hour mark, Mika Marmol and Munir both scored. Greenwood and his teammates couldn’t score back, so the game ended in a tie.
Even though they lost, Greenwood will be happy with how he played, especially how fast he was in the first half.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe recently said that his INEOS consortium will be taking a “fresh look” at Greenwood’s position at United. However, it would be surprising if he was put back into the first team.
It’s more possible that the forward will leave Old Trafford, and United will hope that he can keep up his great form until the end of the season to make him more valuable.
Since he was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault causing real bodily harm, Greenwood hasn’t played for United. His last game for the club was in January 2022.
