Mason Greenwood, who recently joined Getafe on loan from Manchester United, declared that he is “happy to be here” as he was introduced in front of the home crowd for the first time.
On deadline day, the 21-year-old made the move to Spain after announcing last month that he would continue his career outside of Old Trafford.
In January 2022, United suspended Greenwood on allegations involving a young woman after pictures and videos were leaked online and he was accused of attempted rape and violence. However, the Crown Prosecution Service of the UK declared that the case had been dropped in February of this year.
On Tuesday, Greenwood had the chance to practice in front of the Getafe supporters at an open practice.
The last of the three to be presented was the one-cap England international, who waved to the Getafe supporters as he entered the Coliseum Alfonso Perez before kicking a signed ball into the crowd.
Greenwood expressed his happiness about being present.
“I’ve been working out for four or five months; I’m catching up, and I’ve been working out with my teammates. I feel good.
“We take it one game at a time, and the next one at home is coming up in a few weeks. We will try to win and do our best.”
Greenwood may make his United debut following the 1-0 victory over West Ham in January 2022, which marked his last appearance for the club.
