A long-range shot from outside the box has given Manchester United player Mason Greenwood a goal for Getafe, his fourth of the season.
After Real Madrid concluded he wasn’t going anywhere, they loaned Greenwood out to Getafe in the Premier League. His denial of the attempted rape, assault, and coercive control was dismissed in February by the Crown Prosecution Service, and this occurred after an internal review.
In the eleven games since making his Getafe debut on September 17 against Osasuna, he has notched one goal. The most recent game Greenwood played in saw him score a long-range goal.
He scored the game-winning goal in a home match against Almeria by cutting on his preferred left foot and unleashing a fierce shot into the far corner. As his teammates gathered around him in the Spanish capital, he wheeled off in a celebratory mood.
Since joining the team from the Red Devils, he has scored four goals. In October, he scored his first goal in a 2-2 tie with Celta Vigo. In the Copa Del Rey, he also scored twice as his team defeated CF Tardienta 12-0.
Since the 2021–22 United season, he has not had a significant role in a football season. The Sun reports that earlier this week, Nike confirmed to The Sun that Greenwood is no longer an athlete for the company.
Mason Greenwood is no longer an athlete for Nike, according to a representative who talked with the media. A Nike representative went on to state that the company has severed ties with the Getafe athlete.
Although they’ve gotten off to a shaky start in La Liga so far this season, Getafe are still in the hunt for a playoff position. In contrast, United have taken a lot of heat for their performance, even though they are now in second place in the Premier League, eight points behind the league leaders.
Erik ten Hag’s squad is riding high at home, but they still face a mountain to climb in Europe. Later this week, Manchester United will travel to Galatasaray in search of three points to improve their chances of advancing to the round of 16.
