It’s crucial to remember that Mason Mount’s problems did not start at Old Trafford when you reflect on his difficult debut against Manchester United.

Due to injury, Mount missed the final few months of the previous season with Chelsea, a season in which he had not been very successful.

Rather than considering the player he was in 2022–2023—United paid £55 million for him, presumably based more on potential and prior achievements.

Mason Mount’s difficult United debut

Mason Mount was hoping that moving to Manchester United would provide him a fresh start, but it has only served to repeat the events of the previous season at Chelsea.

His body has taken a beating, breaking down into two distinct injuries. Additionally, in the few times he has been healthy, he has either been benched or has not blended in well with the Manchester United squad.

He hasn’t played since last November, and the club’s reports on his injuries have been vague and unspecific when it comes to when he might be able to return.

Two responses to Mount’s message came from well-known Manchester United and England teammates.

Bruno Fernandes, the captain of United, retorted, “Almost there.”

Declan Rice, an England teammate and Mount’s former Chelsea academy friend, commented, “What a sight.”

We don’t anticipate seeing Mount on the pitch before the international break in late March because he will still be a few weeks away.

This might pave the way for a potential return date of the Premier League match against Liverpool in early April. That’s something Mount should strive for.
