Messi just wrote a letter to say goodbye to his first season with Inter Miami with a photo celebrating winning the Leagues Cup.
After a 0-1 loss to Charlotte FC in MLS, Lionel Messi officially ended his first season with Inter Miami. The Argentinian superstar almost had a good memory with a super goal but was denied by the crossbar. In total, Messi appeared for Inter Miami in 14 matches, scored 11 goals and had 5 assists.
In MLS alone, Messi played 6 matches with a record of 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. The Argentine superstar had a total of 373 minutes of actual combat, finishing 20 times, dribbling 29 times, passing the ball 205 times, including 6 decisive passes. The 36-year-old striker has only 2 goals and 1 assist in the 2023 US professional tournament.
The Argentine superstar’s most memorable achievement with president David Beckham’s team is winning the Leagues Cup championship to get a spot in the CONCACAF Champions League C1 Cup next season. It’s a bit unfortunate that Messi and his teammates couldn’t participate in the MLS playoffs, but that will become the motivation for the Argentine superstar to strive for next season.
After the end of the season, Messi just posted a long gratitude post on social networks with a series of photos and emotional shares. “I am proud of everything we have achieved with the team this season. With everyone’s tireless efforts, we won the Leagues Cup championship. It was the first title in Inter Miami history.
Additionally, we reached the final of the US Open and fought for a spot in the MLS playoffs until the last second. We did very well and more than that, we showed our desire to get better next season.
I want to send my sincerest thanks to everyone at Inter Miami Club. I want to thank the city of Miami for helping the team a lot recently. I promise everyone that we will have more wonderful moments in the coming days.
A big hug to everyone!”.
