More than Football: Mo Salah’s Inspirational Storytelling with Refugees through LFC Foundation 🀝

During a recent Global Works session organized by LFC Foundation, Mohamed Salah imparted his life lessons to a group of migrants.

The 20-person group was advised by the Liverpool star that aspirations may come true if you have a clear vision and put in the necessary effort.

Salah shocked the group by showing up for their meeting and then leading an energizing Q&A session in which he talked about the difficulties players experience on the field and the value of a player’s life off the field.

After the Q&A, the Egypt international spent time talking one-on-one with two young migrants about their journeys and stressed the value of perseverance and hard effort. He also watched as the group demonstrated their football talents in small-sided games.

Salah remarked during the occasion, “You can achieve big things if you have a good vision and you believe inside yourself that there is a bright light there.” “I think all of your ambitions may come true if you have a clear vision and put in a lot of effort. Chacun de cest.

“To achieve your dream, all you have to do is work extremely hard, be willing to make sacrifices, and do everything in your power.”

“It was incredible for us to have Mo come down to the session and share his experiences and advice with the group; it was evident how the visit affected our participants,” stated Matt Parish, chief executive of the LFC Foundation.

“These young men were inspired by Mo, a global hero, and their beaming expressions throughout demonstrated how much this visit meant to them.”

Weekly football sessions are provided by the LFC Foundation and important partners to refugees in the Liverpool City Region, assisting them in reintegrating into society and forming new friendships.

More than 900 refugees and asylum seekers have been assisted by LFC Foundation since the launch of the Refugee Football initiative.

The employability program, Global Works, which has been providing employment services to 38 refugees since March 2023, included the session that can be seen in the video above.

This 10-week program combines the development of critical employability skills with the physical and mental well-being-promoting aspects of sport.
