NEW PLAN: Man Utd trains with ‘Andre Onana mode’ to boost power for West Ham clɑsh

This week, Manchester United has been back at the training facility in preparation for their Premier League trip to West Ham on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag will be hoping to improve upon their hard-fought draw with Liverpool the weekend before when they host David Moyes’ team. However, the Reds will be wary of facing the Iron, a wounded creature.

With minimal fanfare, the Merseyside squad eliminated the Hammers from the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, winning 5-1 at Anfield. Moyes will undoubtedly be observing his team to see how they react, so United must be cautious in the nation’s capital.

Before moving south, the boys have been back at Carrington finishing off their work. This is what we noticed.

Onana’s new regime

It has become common practice during United training sessions for the ‘keepers to do their own thing while the outfield players focus on what they need to work on. However, with playing out from the back being such a crucial element of football these days, this approach does seem outdated.

Ten Hag appears to have noticed this and has brought Onana into the outfield training sessions this week where he appears to have been involved in a close-quarters drill with his teammates. The Cameroonian has bee criticised for his distribution since joining United so this change of training regime could look to rectify this problem.

Van de Beek still involved

Van de Beek is expected to be acquired by Eintracht Frankfurt in January. A few weeks ago, Ten Hag went so far as to say that his career might benefit from a departure.

But when he participated in the training, there were no indications that he was being lazy. He was spotted with Bruno Fernandes, who has returned from a one-match suspension.
