Even though RB Leipzig lost their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match against Real Madrid, Xavi Simons become even more well-known. Now that he plays for FC Barcelona, the 20-year-old is probably wondering how his academy allowed him to lose that talent.

As premier European clubs look to see if the Parisians are willing to sell, Simons, who is now on loan from Paris Saint-Germain to RB Leipzig, is expected to attract interest. It is said that Barcelona will be one of them.

AS (via Le10Sport) claims that Barcelona is apparently enticed to get Simons back. The Dutch international’s contract with PSG runs through mid-2027, so things appear tricky for the Catalan club.

Simons will rejoin PSG after this season and be a part of a youthful team. Given that Kylian Mbappé is expected to leave the team when his contract expires in June, the Dutchman will have a major role to play as the team enters a new era.

The young player is the capital club’s future, thus it’s doubtful that they will let him go this summer. It won’t stop any clubs from inquiring about his availability, though, and PSG will probably turn down any interest.
