Early this week, Eduardo Camavinga hurt his knee while working with the France national team. This was bad news for Real Madrid.

The guard, who is 21 years old, was sent back to Madrid from the camp for the French National Team because the injury was worse than first thought.

Camavinga had new tests and an MRI scan this morning because he went back to Spain on Thursday. Things are not going well.

“The external lateral ligament in our player Eduardo Camavinga has been torn,” the Real Madrid Medical Services said after checking him out today. There will be evolution, the club said in an official statement.

He won’t be back for 8 to 10 weeks.

Based on what we now know, writer Arancha Rodriguez says Camavinga might not be out for eight to ten weeks.

From the start, it looked like the star midfielder would be out for at least eight weeks, which is what happened.

Camavinga will not work again until after the new year. He is done for the year 2023.

This means that the French player can’t play against Almeria, Union Berlin, Cadiz, Napoli, Granada, Real Betis, or Union Berlin.

Real Madrid’s first game of 2024 is against Mallorca, and their next game is in the Round of 32 of the Copa del Rey. He might not be able to play either of those games either.

It was planned for him to come back in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup against Atletico Madrid, but that also doesn’t look likely right now.
