It was bad news for Real Madrid earlier this week when Eduardo Camavinga hurt his knee while working with the France national team.
The defender, who is 21 years old, was sent back to Madrid from the French National Team camp because the injury was much worse than first thought.
Since he flew back to Spain on Thursday, Camavinga had new tests and an MRI scan this morning. The results are not very good.
“After the tests that Real Madrid Medical Services did on our player Eduardo Camavinga today, they found that the external lateral ligament in his right knee has been torn.” “Evolution pending,” the club said in a formal statement.
Camaveera is out for 8 to 10 weeks.
Arancha Rodriguez, a journalist, says that this new knowledge means Camavinga could be out for eight to ten weeks.
The original reports said that the midfield star would be out for at least eight weeks, which fits with what happened.
Now Camavinga is done for the rest of 2023 and won’t work again until after the new year.
The French player will not be able to play against Cadiz, Napoli, Granada, Real Betis, Union Berlin, Villarreal, or Almeria because of this.
He might also not be able to play in Real Madrid’s first game of 2024, which is against Mallorca, or in the next game, which is the Round of 32 of the Copa del Rey.
He was supposed to come back in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Atletico Madrid, but that also doesn’t look likely right now.
