Manchester United used a break option to end Sergio Reguilon’s loan deal early this month. He will go back to Tottenham.
After Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia got hurt for United, the left-back went to Old Trafford on the last day of the transfer window in September.
Reguilon then played 12 times for United, but he will now go back to Spurs because his loan was cut short.
Shaw is now fully fit again, and Malacia will be back soon too. This means that United no longer needs Reguilon.
Erik ten Hag’s team also has fewer games in the second half of the season since they are already out of the Champions League and the Carabao Cup.
We don’t know what will happen with Reguilon now that Tottenham is ready to loan him out in the summer.
Football rules say that the 27-year-old could join a new team in January since he hasn’t played for Spurs this season.
Even though Reguilon played for Tottenham in the preseason, Destiny Udogie has become Ange Postecoglou’s clear first choice at left-back.
For his great play this season, the 21-year-old was given a new deal last month that lasts until 2030.
