A dilemma is brewing for Carlo Ancelotti in the lead-up to Real Madrid’s upcoming match. After suffering injuries during their foreign tours, Vinicius Jr. and Rodyrgo Goes both returned to the team. Although the former is out for the long run, the latter is also not in a good place.
Vini is actually anticipated to be out for a few months at the latest, which puts Ancelotti in a difficult situation. He is, after all, the squad’s most potent finishing third asset.
Belief in Joselu
Journalist Rodra P (via Madrid Xtra) disclosed that Real Madrid has total confidence in Joselu to lead them through the difficult times to come. Although the seasoned Spanish player isn’t Ancelotti’s first pick for an attacking player, he is experienced in filling in for Vinicius when needed.
When the Brazilian talisman was out earlier this season, Joselu turned things around for the men in white, tallying two assists and four goals in six games. He has totaled five goals and two assists so far this season.
A long-range strategy?
The Spanish journalist continues by saying that Joselu, Real Madrid, and his group have a great belief in sticking together for the duration of the current campaign.
Everyone believes Los Blancos will activate their purchase clause against the player and pull the trigger.
Joselu joined the Merengues from Espanyol for a mere €500,000 last summer, with the possibility to sign on a permanent basis for a further €1.5 million.
That amount is a steal given the quality of work he has been generating.
The sole doubt over Joselu’s future will, of course, be on what he will do following Real Madrid’s other summer activities.
Endrick is scheduled to come in June, and if he stays on, he might not have much of an impact because either Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland will probably join the team.
