After Lionel Messi’s absence, Inter Miami’s manager picks the team’s best player to face the Vancouver Whitecaps

There was no Lionel Messi on the Inter Miami team, so Tata Martino had to pick an MVP for last night’s game against the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Even though Inter Miami didn’t have Lionel Messi for the game, the Herons still beat Inter Miami 2-1 in British Columbia, making it ten games in a row without losing.

The Argentine international, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, and the 13-hour trip from Miami to Vancouver were not on board because they were resting for this week’s games against St. Louis City SC and Atlanta United.

Martino thought a lot of one guy last night. Robert Taylor got a lot of praise for the game-winning play he made for Inter-Miami against Vancouver. Martino gave Robert Taylor, the Finnish attacker who scored the game-winning goal and set up Leonardo Campana for the other goal, a lot of credit after the win in his press conference.

Because Messi and Suarez were not playing, Inter Milan beat Vancouver on Saturday, thanks in large part to 29-year-old winger Taylоr, who did a great job of starting the attack.

Martino has already asked Taylor to step up because Messi is going to the Copa America next month, and the forward did a great job last night in Canada. As we were getting ready for the game, we knew how important Robert’s place was, and that’s exactly what Martino says happened. He changed everything for our team, and we won because of him.

Taylor showed next month that he has what it takes to be Inter Miami’s best player. After next month, Messi and Suarez will be away on international service. Taylor from Inter Miami can step up and shine with a great goal and an assist.

With his rough control of Vancouver down the left wing, Taylor set a high bar for what the Inter Miami winger could do in the coming weeks.

Inter Miami should be fine with the Finnish international if he can play as well as he did last night in future games, even without Messi while he is on international duty with Argentina.
