Mbappe misjudged a header and smacked his head against Austria’s Kevin Danso’s shoulder, seeming to break his nose.

The recent Real Madrid addition had to leave the pitch before being allowed to play again because he needed medical attention on the pitch for a broken nose.However, the 25-year-old decided to take matters into his own hands and returned to the pitch without the officials’ consent, rather than waiting politely to be introduced.And with that, he fell to the ground and took a seat on the grass.
With France leading the Austrians by a hair’s breadth, 1-0, the peculiar situation seemed to be a waste of time.It appeared as though Mbappe had been instructed by France manager Didier Deschamps to return to the pitch in an attempt to halt play once more.Furthermore, the referee issued a booking to Deschamps for his involvement.
The late Roy Keane of Manchester United and Ireland was not amused by the antics and chastised Mbappe for choosing to re-enter the field following the game.”To go back out and sit on the pitch?,” he remarked in an ITV interview. It was a yellow card that he earned. It pains you to see it.”
Speaking on ITV, he said: “To go back out and sit on the pitch? He deserved that yellow card. You hate to see it.”
