‘PASSING MACHINE’: Real Madrid make crucial contact with €70m full-back

The newspaper Mundo Deportivo says that Real Madrid is already in touch with Liverpool right back Trent Alexander-Arnold to improve their team for the 2025–26 season.

The news source says that Madrid’s sports management is focussing on improving both full-back places to give Ferland Mendy and Dani Carvajal some competition for starting spots.

Alphonso Davies and Trent Alexander-Arnold are two players that have caught their attention for this job.

However, the story says that the club is seriously thinking about signing Alexander-Arnold and has already taken steps to get in touch with his agents.

Since the Liverpool star is 25 years old, his deal is set to end in 2025, and there has been no clear sign that it will be renewed. This means that Real Madrid has the chance to make a move.

Meanwhile, one factor that could work in Real Madrid’s favour is the strong bond between Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham.

The pair have developed a close friendship during their time together in the English national team, which could influence Alexander-Arnold’s decision to move to the Spanish capital.

In addition to Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid are also keen on securing the services of Alphonso Davies. The Canadian full-back, currently at Bayern Munich, has been stalling contract renewal talks with the German club.

Bayern have made it clear that if Davies does not sign a new deal soon, they are willing to let him leave for free when his contract runs out. As things stand, Davies will also be free to negotiate with any club starting January 2025.

With both Alexander-Arnold and Davies potentially available in 2025, Real Madrid seem to be planning ahead, ensuring that their full-back positions are strengthened for the future.
