PATCH UP: The line-up that Man Utd can use after losing Lisandro Martinez and Reguilon

MANCHESTER UNITED have been hit by a new injury crisis with Lisandro Martinez ruled out for an “extended period.”

And they have just one full-back available for tomorrow’s game against Crystal Palace with Sergio Reguilon also ruled out.

Sergio Reguilon has also picked up an injury

It means Erik ten Hag may have to play loanee midfielder Sofyan Amrabat at left-back for the second straight game.

And the door is also open for Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans to line up at centre-back.

Martinez, a fan favorite, has worsened a foot ailment he suffered in April of last year.

He was carried off the field in tears after last season’s Europa League encounter against Sevilla.

Eventually, Martinez suffered a fractured metatarsal and was out for the rest of the campaign.

However, the ace’s illness has come back to haunt both him and United.

Before tomorrow’s match against Crystal Palace, the Red Devils confirmed that their star defender has once again aggravated his metatarsal.

Martinez first felt it during Arsenal’s 3-1 loss against them.

How United could look against Palace

He “bravely” featured in the next two matches against Brighton and Bayern Munich – both of which also ended in defeat.

But Martinez is unable to continue, having sat out the last two wins over Burnley and Palace.

United’s statement confirmed: “It has now been determined that he needs a period on the sidelines for recovery and rehabilitation. Assessment is ongoing to decide next steps.

“Everyone at Manchester United sends Lisandro our best wishes and looks forward to him coming back as soon as possible.”

As for Reguilon, he could be missing until after next month’s international break after coming off injured at Burnley.

The Spurs loanee had impressed fans during his brief time at Old Trafford.

And he becomes the THIRD United left-back to pick up a problem this term, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia also sidelined.

United added: “Sergio Reguilon will also be absent from this Saturday’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace with a minor injury.”
