Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has sparked a light-hearted controversy within the Reds’ squad, claiming he’s quicker than new signing Federico Chiesa.
In a video featuring Liverpool players reacting to their EA Sports ratings, Szoboszlai took issue with Chiesa being labeled the fastest player in the team.
“Mine [pace] should be the highest in the team,” Szoboszlai said, before challenging Chiesa to a race.
“I’m faster than him! Put me now with this one and I’m faster!” Szoboszlai declared.
Chiesa, known for his rapid speed, had been given a 93 pace rating, slightly ahead of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, who both received 90 ratings.
The video’s hosts, Alexis Mac Allister and Diogo Jota, were amused by Szoboszlai’s audacious remark.
With a pace rating of 69, Mac Allister joked that he would race Nunez, Chiesa, and Diaz to win the argument.
The conversation demonstrates the teamwork and rivalry among Liverpool’s players.
