Marcus Rashford, a forward for Manchester United, spoke about Sir Bobby Charlton in a touching Instagram post.

He died quietly on Saturday, after having dementia for three years.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Sir Bobby passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday morning,” his family said in a statement.

“His family was all around him.” Friends and family of his would like to thank everyone who helped with his care and all the people who loved and supported him.

“We would request that the family’s privacy be respected at this time.”

A lot of people paid tribute to the Manchester United and England great on Saturday night. David Beckham, Gary Lineker, and Gary Neville were just a few of the famous people who did so.

One more star, Rashford, has paid homage.

He posted a picture on Instagram of himself signing his first professional contract. His family and Sir Bobby were there to look at it with him.

Rashford wrote next to the picture, “I signed my first professional contract at Manchester United with Sir Bobby.”

“Thank you for all the help and feedback you gave me.

“That win was for you and your family.”

Man United played Sheffield United on Saturday night, just a few hours after the news of Sir Bobby’s death spread. Rashford was in the team.

Both teams held a minute of silence before the game to honor the 1966 World Cup star.

Bruno Fernandes, the leader of United, also put flowers in the middle circle.

Scott McTominay and Diogo Dalot scored goals to help the Red Devils win 2-1.

Manager Erik ten Hag gave the win to Sir Bobby at the end of the game.

“Very sad. Our thoughts are with his family, especially his wife, children, and grandchildren,” he said.

“What he did in football was huge.” Also, he is outside of football. A big man died in football.

“We had to treat him with respect, and I think we did that today.” We wanted to remember him and have a party.

“The tribute from our fans was great.” We need to join in and say goodbye, remembering Bobby Charlton for the great things he did.
