After scoring for Manchester United against Bodo/Glimt, RASMUS HOJLUND tried out a new way to celebrate.
The 21-year-old Danish forward scored twice to help the Red Devils come back from being down 2-1 to win 3-2 in the Europa League.
Hojlund’s first goal, which leveled the score just before halftime, was a beautiful finish that looped into the bottom corner.
He then ran up to the fans and gave them a thumbs up, which he then changed to a thumbs down.
After celebrating, the attacker for Manchester United made a motion that looked like he was cutting his throat.
A lot of fans must have been confused by what Hojlund did.
However, people who saw the new Hollywood movie “Gladiator II” will know it from that movie.
Emperor Geta, played by Joseph Quinn, does it when he has to decide if someone should Ԁιе in the Colosseum or not.
When they are told to ƙιll, he turns his thumb down to show that their opponent must ƙιll them.
One fan said about Hojlund’s joy, “Gladiator Hojlund, he’s in such a good mood .”
“Whether you like it or not” was added by someone else.
There was a third answer: “The Danish blσσԀ…”
A fourth replied: “Didn’t think there’d be a Gladiator I’d fancy more than Paul Mescal but Rasmus Hojlund has proven me wrong .”
Before his two goals on Thursday night, Hojlund had only scored two goals in 13 games across all categories.
He will now try to get a starting spot against Everton on Sunday, though.
Man Utd’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich last weekend saw Marcus Rashford start in the middle of the attack.
