Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano played to a tie at the Santiago Bernabéu, even though Real Madrid should have won. We fought hard until the end, but Dimitrievski was too strong for us to beat. Ancelotti’s team could have taken the lead early in the game because they played so well.
When Valverde stole the ball from Unai López and drove into the box, he had a one-on-one with Dimitrievski but couldn’t beat him.
In the 26th minute, Joselu had two good chances. The first one, a header from ModriÇ’s corner, went wide, and the second one, a cross-shot with his right foot went wide. From that point on, Madrid attacked the Rayo Vallecano goal nonstop. Bellingham played well on his own and then cut the ball behind the defense to Fran García. The defender hit the ball hard, but it went just over the bar (31 minutes). Soon after, Alaba tried his luck with a left-footed shot from the edge of the area.

In the 39th minute, Vini Jr. had the best chance of the game. He went on a nice run past two players, drove to the goal line, and played the ball back to Joselu. When the forward hit the ball, Dimitrievski stopped it and turned it behind for a corner. Bellingham almost made it 1-0 right before halftime. After a great cut-back in the box beat two defenders, the Englishman’s right-footed shot just missed the goal.

More opportunities
After the break, things went on as usual. In the 55th and 57th minutes, Real Madrid had two good chances. In the first, Valverde’s cross caused Joselu’s shot to go wide. In the next one, Alaba’s free kick missed the goal. There was only one way to win the game for our team, which kept trying. In the 66th minute, Vini Jr. put the ball in the net, but the goal was called back because Joselu was caught offside.

After only five minutes, Carvajal sent in a low cross from the right side. Rodrygo shot it across goal, but it just missed the Rayo post. The last chance of the game was made by the two Madrid players. The full-back put Rodrygo through after some good play with Valverde. Dimitrievski stopped their back heel. But even though Real Madrid had many chances, the score stayed 0-0 until the end.
