It was a dull game until Brahim Diaz broke it open in the second half. In just five minutes, he scored the game-winning goal for Real Madrid, which helped them beat Arandina in the Copa del Rey. The Spanish player had been pretty quiet for the first half, but he won a penalty, which Joselu converted, and then he scored a great goal to help Madrid easily win 3-1.
Early on, Madrid’s biggest scoring threat seemed to be Arda Guler, who was making his debut. Adrián Alvarez made a nice save from the 18-year-old Turk, who then sent a free kick off the post. Joselu also had a good chance, but his shot from a tight angle went into the side net.
But after the break, Los Blancos came back to life. Joselu scored the first goal by putting a spot kick into the bottom corner. The second goal was scored by Diaz, who hit it into the corner from the edge of the box. Rodrygo scored a third goal late in the game, with help from Diaz.
Arandina wasn’t just watching this. In front of only 10,000 people, the home team tried to attack on the break, but they never got a clear chance. Their only goal, which was a bad one because Nacho put the ball in his net, was well-earned.
Even though Madrid had to work hard for this win, they earned it and deserve to be in the last 16 as they try to protect their Spanish Cup.
