Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger will be unavailable for the next La Liga match against Valencia after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season in a 0-0 draw with Rayo Vallecano

Antonio Rudiger, a defender for Real Madrid, earned his fifth yellow card of the season in Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Rayo Vallecano. He will not be able to play in the next La Liga game against Valencia.

The German player got a yellow card in the 95th minute for a fight with Rayo center-back Florian Lejeune, who got in his way near the corner flag when the German tried to push Lejeune out of the way to get into the box. Both players got yellow cards from the referee, which made Rudiger very angry. His friends had to hold him back.

Rudiger will not be able to play because he is suspended. This means that Real Madrid will only have two healthy center-backs for the game against Valencia: David Alaba and Nacho. The first one has started most of Carlo Ancelotti’s games, while Nacho has always been able to step in when required.

Without Rudiger, Real Madrid, who are currently in second place in the league table, will lose points. They are two points behind winners Girona. This season, the 30-year-old has been one of the best players for the club, stepping in well when Eder Militao wasn’t available.

Rudiger can still play this coming Wednesday in the Champions League against Braga. He is expected to start that game.
