At the same time, not everything was good for Real Madrid. Star player Dani Carvajal got hurt.

Carvajal might not be able to play in the Real Betis match.

During the game against Granada, Carvajal hurt his leg and calf. His only half was the first one, and Lucas Vazquez came on to play in his place during the break.

Unfortunately, Carvajal got hurt right before the game against Real Betis. Melchor Ruiz says the right-back is very unlikely to play in that game.

Right now, Carvajal is having pain in his left soleus. It will be known how bad the defender’s injury is after tests are done on Monday.

Who will play in place of Carvajal?

Real Madrid probably won’t take any chances with Carvajal, even if his injury turns out to be minor. The player is very important to the team.

So, it looks like the Spanish player won’t be able to play against Real Betis, which means Carlo Ancelotti will have to find someone else.

As of that moment, Ancelotti thought that Lucas Vazquez was the best choice to replace Carvajal at right back.

Vazquez is a good choice because he can give you width going forward and cross the ball into the box. He’s also played that spot a lot of times before.

But Carvajal’s injury is yet another lesson for Real Madrid that they need to add more fullbacks in January if they want to finish the season without any injuries.
