Spanish news outlet La Defensa says Real Madrid is ready to pay £8.7 million to get Kepa Arrizabalaga permanently from Chelsea.
During the summer, the Spanish goalie moved to Madrid on loan. His play has impressed Madrid so much that they have decided to make a permanent move for him.
Thibaut Courtois was hurt and will not be able to play again this season. Kepa has been brought in to replace him. The 29-year-old also said he wanted to stay with the team after his loan spell at Real ended.
It could be hard to get him, though, since Chelsea broke their own record by making Kepa their most expensive signing. £8.7 million is not enough, and we need to talk about how to raise the price. But Chelsea got Robert Sanchez from Brighton & Hove Albion, so they don’t mind if Kepa leaves.
Kepa left Chelsea, and the Blues later signed Dorde Petrovic from the England Revolution of Major League Soccer. Sanchez has since taken over as the starting goalkeeper.
Chelsea might be willing to sell the former Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper if they get a good price for him. The price that Real is asking is too low, and we won’t even make a profit when he leaves. Also, we’ll lose a lot of money because we paid a lot to sign him.
Even though there is still time to find a price that works for everyone, we should not make the same mistake again because it costs a lot of money. Instead, we should benefit from Kepa’s departure since Antonio Rudiger, one of the best defenders in the club, left for free. But what happens when Courtois goes back to his job? Is Kepa going to be the backup guard again? We won’t have any problems if he does leave, though.
