According to rumours circulating that Liverpool is interested in the Brazil star, Real Madrid is supposedly growing receptive to the prospect of Rodrygo leaving.
In July 2019, Rodrygo became a Real Madrid official when the La Liga powerhouses paid Santos £37.6 million (€45 million / US$50.3 million) for him. A year prior, at the age of seventeen, the winger and the agreement had been finalised.
Real Madrid resolved not to allow a plethora of other South American talents elude them after losing out on Neymar to rivals Barcelona in the past. They brought in players like Federico Valverde, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo as a result.
All three of those players are now elite performers as a result of these brilliant manoeuvres.
Rodrygo has played 225 games for Madrid so far, recording 43 assists and 57 goals. After Kylian Mbappe’s summer transfer, Rodrygo was expected to lose his starting position, but he has had a fantastic start to the season and has scored in Madrid’s previous two league games.
However, it was reported on Tuesday that Arne Slot is “obsessed” with bringing the 23-year-old to Liverpool due to rumours that he feels underappreciated in the Spanish city.
Rodrygo’s position has been updated with the most recent information by the Spanish publication Fichajes. Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, is said to have “opened the door” for the player to leave because he believes Carlo Ancelotti can manage without him.
With Rodrygo out of the picture, Endrick would be able to start more frequently with players like Jude Bellingham, Mbappe, and Vini Jr.
