Endrick was disappointing in his two starts.

After the loss to Milan, Endrick continued to play for Real Madrid. Against the Barcelona defense, the young Brazilian striker did not leave any significant mark. In the 67 minutes on the field, he did not shoot on target, did not dribble past anyone, and did not have any key passes. All Endrick could do was 11 passes and 1 shot that went wide in the first half.

On the day Endrick played poorly, a young star on Barca’s side shone, Pau Victor. The player born in 2001 scored twice, both after simple close-range shots.

Both of Barca’s goals were scored by Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker assisted Victor to open the scoring in the 42nd minute, before launching an attack that brought the Catalans their second goal in the 53rd minute. Lewy had previously stated that he was in great physical condition, no different from 2 years ago.

In the second half, coach Carlo Ancelotti sent Vinicius on. This star helped Real play better. However, the opportunities still passed by the white-shirted strikers. Real had to wait until the 82nd minute to reduce the score. Nico Paz took advantage of the Barca defense’s careless marking to head the ball past the goalkeeper.

Barca beat Real for the first time after three consecutive defeats. The Camp Nou team will have two more friendlies on August 7 and August 13, against Milan and Monaco respectively. Meanwhile, Real will play Chelsea on August 7, before playing the European Super Cup against Atalanta on August 15.

Thibaut Courtois—7: A number of good saves despite giving up two goals.

Lucas Vazquez—7: Played at both right back and right wing — combining well with Arda and Modric. Takes no blame in goals conceded.

Rudiger—6: Pairing of Militao and Rudiger looked fragile with miscommunication between the two.

Militao—3: Two moments of complete lack of focus leading to two goals. Fails to properly track Lewandowski’s run on the first goal and failed to get goal side of Pau Victor on the second.

Fran Garcia—3: A year on from his return and still plays jittery. Offered nothing in the attack and defensively fragile.

Mario Martin—3: Been a tough tour for Mario Martin who has failed to take the opportunity with Camavinga and Tchouameni absent.

Luka Modric—6: Good when on the ball but moments where the game moved past him.

Dani Ceballos—5.5: Another that was proficient on the ball but did not do enough to seal cracks defensively and failed to produce anything meaningful in the final third.

Brahim Diaz—5.5: Never connected with his other two teammates in the attack and failed to be the spark the attack needed.

Arda Guler—8.5: Special player, the one stand out for Real Madrid. All good things came from Arda Guler’s feet. Scored a goal but was disallowed by a marginal offsides call. Provided the assist from a corner kick on the lone Real Madrid goal.

Endrick—5: Attempting to do too much on his own. The raw talent and physical tools are there but still meshing with the team.

Substitutions:

Joan Martinez—7: Once again looked composed and assured in the back. A bright future ahead.

Jacobo Ramon—6: One foray forward that nearly led to a goal. Had a few rash slide tackles and mistimed some challenges but played with confidence and has the frame to be a good center back.

Nico Paz—6: Scored the lone Real Madrid goal with a power header from a corner, left completely alone at the back post.

Vinicius Junior—7: Clearly the most talented player on the pitch and gave Barca constant headaches but final product was severely lacking.

Obrador—6: An upgrade over Fran Garcia during his limited minutes.

Aguado—6: Appears to have an engine and speed, would be interesting to see more of the right back.
