The major summer acquisition of Carlo Ancelotti is on a record-breaking scoring rampage.
Real Madrid defeated Osasuna 4β0 to take the lead in La Liga, with Jude Bellingham continuing to score goals and Vinicius Jr. finding his game.
After surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for goal contributions in his first ten games, the Englishman scored two goals, while Vinicius and Joselu completed the scoring in a convincing 4-0 victory.
Bellingham was at the center of Madrid’s opening goal once more. After a pass from Dani Carvajal, the Englishman ducked under a defender and finished with his left foot to give Los Blancos a 1-0 lead after ten minutes of play. At the close of the first half, Jon Moncayola of Osasuna missed a great opportunity to put Madrid ahead, but they could have been forced to pay.
Earlier in the second half, the Englishman gave Madrid some breathing room. Federico Valverde provided the assist this time, though, as he flicked the ball past the defense to Bellingham, who advanced and tucked it in between the keeper’s legs.
After an hour, Vinicius scored his first goal since returning from injury, rushing through on goal, round the keeper, and poking home to put the game beyond doubt. Shortly after, Vinicius set Joselu up for an easy right-footed finish from a nice angle, and he scored his fourth goal. Despite Joselu’s failed penalty late in the game, Carlo Ancelotti’s team had a fantastic afternoon overall.

Goalkeeper & Defence
Kepa Arrizabalaga (7/10):
Had very little to do. Will be happy to keep a clean sheet.
Dani Carvajal (7/10):
Another impressive showing at right-back. Played very high up the pitch, and was instrumental in the Madrid opener.
Aurelien Tchouameni (6/10):
Filled in at centre-back with Madrid limited by injuries and suspensions. Didn’t always look the most comfortable positionally, and picked up a silly booking.
Antonio Rudiger (8/10):
Calm at the back, and made a few key clearances when Osasuna attacked.
Ferland Mendy (7/10):
Preferred to Fran Garcia again. Not as exciting going forward, but gives the valuable defensive cover that allows Vinicius to roam.
Midfield
Eduardo Camavinga (7/10):
Covered a lot of ground and kept the ball moving effectively. Looks much better as a lone No.6.
Federico Valverde (8/10):
Quietly excellent from central midfield. Ran loads and set up Bellingham’s second goal with aplomb. Really finding form after a shaky start.
Luka Modric (7/10):
Completed the most passes in the match. Floated about and did lots of pleasing things on the ball.
Jude Bellingham (10/10):
Scored a smooth first. His second was arguably better. Has now surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for goal contributions in his first 10 games at the club. Masterful.
Attack
Joselu (7/10):
Took his goal well, but then saw a very poor penalty denied.
Vinicius Jr (8/10):
Spent the early stages of the game trying to do too much. Overdribbled, took speculative shots, and really could have kept it simpler. Still, he took his goal wonderfully and improved immensely in the second half.
Subs & Manager
Toni Kroos (7/10):
A useful cameo. Gave Madrid control as the game wore on.
Rodrygo (5/10):
Getting closer to finding the net, but it’s still not quite working for him at the moment.
Dani Ceballos (7/10):
Impressive in a 20 minute showing.
Lucas Vazquez (N/A):
No time to make an impact
Brahim Diaz (N/A):
No time to make an impact
Carlo Ancelotti (8/10):
His selection was pretty much as expected, other than Tchouameni at centre-back, and Modric starting. Los Blancos weren’t always brilliant, but they exploded at the right moments, and were good value for their win. He will have very few complaints.
