Concerns have been raised by Carlo Ancelotti that Vinicius Junior may have to miss some time with an illness.

Even though his team beat Villarreal 2-0 at home in La Liga, Ancelotti had to look for the good things in a night of mixed feelings in the Spanish city.

The veteran back Dani Carvajal was carried off in pain at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Ancelotti said he had a “serious knee injury.”

Carvajal will have tests in the next few days, but the outlook is that he will not be able to play again until at least 2025.

Vinicius scored a great goal to seal the win in Madrid, but he had to leave the game late because of a shoulder injury, which worries Ancelotti.

“He’s blocked.” He was having trouble with his neck. News from Diario AS says, “He’s in pain, and they’re going to test him in a few hours.”

The first thing that will likely be done is to see if he can join Brazil for international service next week. Early reports suggest that he will not play for the Samba Boys in their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
