Because of this, he was seen limping during the second half of extra time, and Carlo Ancelotti had to take him off and replace him with Arda Guler.
The game was tied 3-3 when Valverde was taken out, but Joselu and Brahim Diaz scored late goals to help Real Madrid win.
The Uruguayan player’s injury isn’t thought to be too bad, but it’s still not clear if he’ll be able to play in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday.
