Real Madrid star Arda Güler picked up a yellow card for his role in a serious confrontation, on the back of Turkey’s meeting with Czechia.
Güler, and Turkey, are fresh off booking their place in the Last-16 of the European Championships
Owing to a 2-1 downing of the aforementioned Czechia, Vincenzo Montella’s troops have advanced beyond the group stages at the Euros for the first time since all the way back in 2008.
Youngster Güler, for his part, featured from the off on the night, before being hooked from proceedings late on after a somewhat hit-and-miss display.
As alluded to above, though, on the back of the full-time whistle in Hamburg, the 19-year-old found himself backfront and centre in the action.
As much came after a heated scuffle broke out between the two sets of players.
After a pitch invader initially pulled attentions away from the stars of show, cameras quickly turned back towards a major flashpoint, as a large group of players pushed and shoved each other towards the sidelines.
Czechia’s Tomáš Chorý was shown a red card for his part in things, with Tomáš Souček having also picked up a booking.
And Güler was the sole Turk to have been shown a yellow card, after making his way back onto the pitch to defend his teammates.
